Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has taken action in the dispute between Air Peace and former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, following a confrontation at Lagos Airport last Wednesday.
In a statement released on his verified X account Friday, Keyamo revealed he has personally contacted both parties and instructed aviation agencies not to draw premature conclusions.
“I have directed all aviation agencies to exercise restraint and listen to all sides before making any judgments,” he stated.
As tensions between Oshiomhole and Air Peace intensified publicly, Keyamo called for calm and urged both sides to stop trading accusations.
He ordered a full investigation into the incident, instructing relevant agencies to gather evidence and report their findings to his office.
“This issue will be addressed thoroughly and decisively. The results will inform how similar situations are handled in the future,” he added.
The confrontation reportedly began after Oshiomhole missed a flight, which he blamed on alleged extortion and racketeering by airline staff targeting Nigerian passengers.
Air Peace responded by claiming that Oshiomhole arrived late. However, the senator insisted that he and dozens of other passengers—many of whom were charged an extra N109,100 to board an 8:30 am flight—witnessed staff clearing passengers who arrived after them.
